Meet Our Team, Sarah

Sarah Thompson

Project Architect
+ Project Manager

  • What's your role at H2D? How long have you been with the company?

    • Project Architect.  I've been with H2D since May/June of 2022.

  • What inspired you to pursue a career in architecture and/or interior design?

    • I loved building models since I was a child, and art has always been my number one passion.  After starting school to study computer art and animation, my interests veered toward the built environment, and I realized architecture was where I needed to be!

  • What's your go-to design style or inspiration?

    • I love the simplicity of mid-century modern, but I am drawn to fine woodworking and finish detail and am a sucker for Craftsman and Victorian design.

  • What's one thing you'd like clients to know about the design process?

    • When you start the planning process with your design team, you may think you have your ideal design already dialed in.  It's important to keep an open mind, as we may have ideas to share you never would have thought about before!

  • If you could instantly learn any skill, what would it be?

    • Woodworking.  If I could suddenly know all the skills and have a fully stocked workshop, I'd be in heaven!

  • What's your favorite place you've traveled to?

    • Tahiti.  Paradise on earth.  The shear variety and extent of blues in the water really are as vibrant as they look in photographs.

  • What's your favorite season? And why?

    • That one's difficult.  I love fall colors and being cozy inside on a cold winter's day (especially if it's snowing).  But the summers in the PNW cannot be beat!

  • What's one trend in design you'd love to see a comeback?

    • It all comes around again, you need only wait.  There is nothing new under the sun...but the evolution of old ideas in new ways is always wonderful to behold.

  • If you were a superhero, my superpower would be ____________________.

    • The ability to calm the minds of others.  Sometimes it takes silencing the harsh screaming voices in our heads to see simple truth and beauty.  That is when our paths and decisions become clear.
