Mercer Island Reimagined
Location: Mercer Island, Washington
Design Goals: Fully reimagine and remodel the existing two-story Mercer Island home with a focus on improved functionality, spatial efficiency, and a more open concept layout. The design prioritizes daily livability while accommodating the family’s cultural and entertaining needs.
On the main floor, the layout will be reconfigured for an open floor plan that supports flow better the kitchen, dining, and living spaces. The newly expanded kitchen is designed as a Kosher kitchen, complete with as walk-in pantry and direct access to a covered outdoor area with built-in cooking abilities. A new mudroom and laundry space off the garage will serve as a practical ‘drop zone’ for coats, shoes, and bags.
The dining and living areas are designed with an open concept layout, allowing the dining table to expand for larger gatherings and entertaining. A built-in wet bar with a sink and refrigerator will be located in the dining area. The main-floor primary suite will be fully remodeled, featuring a vaulted ceiling, walk-in closet, and spa-like ensuite bathroom. The lower floor is designed with a secondary kitchen, guest bedrooms, and an additional laundry space.
