Snohomish Transformation

Location: Snohomish County, Washington

Design Goals: This Snohomish County home is set to undergo a significant transformation through a large-scale interior remodel and two new additions. The main floor will be completely reconfigured to improve circulation and enhance the functionality of main living areas. The upper floor will be redesigned to include a new primary suite, offering a private and comfortable retreat for the homeowners. Other highlights of the remodel include a new open-plan kitchen, walk-in pantry, dining area, library with custom built-ins and a fireplace, updated bathrooms, and a dedicated laundry area. A new addition has been designed at the rear for a 3-season sunroom, as well as a small addition at the front to serve as a new mud room.

Style: Timeless Contemporary

Design Challenges + Site Constraints: Working within the existing footprint required strategic reorganization of both levels to meet the homeowners' needs. Two additions were carefully integrated into the design, a rear extension light-filled 3-season sunroom and a front addition to create a functional mudroom entry, which were designed to harmonize with the existing architecture of the house.
