Edmonds Midcentury Refresh
Location: City of Edmonds, Washington
Design Goals: This Edmonds home has great bones but requires a thoughtful renovation to enhance flow and efficiency to better suit the homeowner’s needs. The design calls for a full remodel and reconfiguration of the main floor, with some minor updates on the upper and lower levels. The main floor will be opened up to create a more cohesive, open plan, maximizing the home’s stunning views. Two large sliding glass doors will be added in the great room to facilitate a seamless indoor-outdoor connection to the expansive deck, ideal for entertaining and enjoying the surrounding landscape. The primary suite will be reimagined with a new layout, an upgraded bathroom, and improved closet spaces. Additional home features include a wet bar, dedicated office space, a remodeled laundry room with a dog wash area, and updated finishes throughout, ensuring the home feels both refreshed and functional.
Style: Mid-century Modern
Design Challenges + Site Constraints: While the home offered strong structural bones and desirable mid-century elements, the original layout limited both flow and views. Reworking the main floor to create a more connected living experience, without extensive changes to the overall footprint, required careful spatial planning.
